Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy!

Greetings! I hope everything has been well with you all! I thought I'd share my latest experience under my title as it was both an eventful and joyous occasion. On December 19, 2009, I was pleased to serve as a co-host for the Helping Hands Holiday Event held in College Park, Georgia. This event was a major success; hundreds of children were able to come out and enjoy the perks being offered. Among other things, participants were able to soar in the bouncing pen as well as play basketball and have their faces painted. There were also musical selections by artists performing gospel songs targeted towards the youthful audience. Below, you all can view a few pictures I was able to capture during the event. Once again, it is always a joy to be a part of something that exudes positive energy! Thank you, Helping Hands, for having me!

It's My Pleasure...

Greetings, everyone! I would like to formally introduce myself to you all. My name is Kimberly Jones and I am honored to serve as your Miss Black Georgia USA 2010! I am a twenty-two year old first year law student at the University of Georgia, holding a Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance from Howard University as of May 2009. I hail from Atlanta, Georgia, but I am residing in Athens, Georgia during my tenure at UGA. My platform is entitled "Recruitment and Retention among African-American Students: Furthering Education," wherein which I plan to serve as a catalyst to our youth, informing them of the necessity of attaining an education well beyond the confines of a high school classroom.

So far, I have had the pleasure of serving as the hostess for the OMNIS Foundation at their Princess and the Frog celebration on December 12, 2009. Additionally, I was a guest on Mrs. Kia Talein DeJan's radio show on December 14, 2009. If you missed it, you can listen here at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/divinelifestyle. I am also looking forward to the national photo shoot for the Red Dress Heart Truth campaign in Washington, DC January 16-18, 2010.

As I gear up for the national pageant next August, I ask that you all follow me on my journey there, and support me and Ms. Se'Mona Richardson as we serve our great state! Thank you all for visiting, and you can contact me at missblackgeorgiausa@yahoo.com. God bless, and happy holidays!
